Holiday tournaments are one of the best times for college coaches to get out and see uncommitted seniors during the high school year in person in bulk. With most events starting this week, we wanted to share a few names of available seniors in the state to check out. This includes 2024 players who project to various levels in college.

Point Guards/Combo Guards:
Adyn McGinley (6-0 PG, Beecher)
- A fiery, athletic guard who gets to the paint, sets up teammates, and is a high-level rebounder and defender in the backcourt.
Brandon Watson (5-8 PG, Evanston)
- Watson is willing and capable of picking up full court, turning ball-handlers, and controlling the pace of the game. Speedy point guard.
Braylon Roman (6-4 PG, Normal)
- The top playmaker and true playmaker at 6-foot-4 on a loaded Normal team. Creates offense well off the dribble and has the ability to manufacture offense for himself.
Bryce Welch (6-1 PG, Naperville North)
- Scoring guard with a quick first step is having a nice start to the year with his crafty, shifty play style.
Camden Brown (6-5 SG, Quincy)
- Capable of playing either guard spot and producing. Has fought through some injuries over his career, but is trending in the right direction with his ranginess on defense and versatility.
Cam Cerese (6-3 PG, Lake Park)
- A standout for Lake Park is one of the top remaining PGs in Illinois. Long, aggressive, and efficient as a volume scorer. Also a plus defender and rebounder who has a tireless motor.
Carson Brownfield (6-3 PG, Homewood Flossmoor)
- In a different role this year, but Brownfield is a physically strong, do-it-all type of combo guard who has a college-ready body.
Charlie Robin (6-2 SG, Deerfield)
- Very competitive two-guard has taken a leading role for Deerfield with his outside shooting stroke and general toughness on both ends.
Chase Abraham (6-1 PG, Thornton)
- Continues to be a difference-maker for a promising Thornton team using his one-on-one ability to collapse defenses and finish plays at the rim or with his stop-and-pop game.
Christian Brockett (6-2 SG, Curie)
- Smart, tenacious defensive guard can change games on that end. Handles the ball well in space and is a capable penetrator and passer.
CJ Savage (6-0 PG, West Aurora)
- A pitbull-type of point guard has given West Aurora a boost as an off-the-dribble scorer and transition finisher.
Colin Gerrity (6-2 SG, Neuqua Valley)
- Gerrity possesses natural scoring instincts, with a good pull-up game and range past the three-point line. A very quick leaper off of two feet as well.
Connor Brown (6-3 SG, Calvary Academy)
- Long-armed guard with a little bit of shake and shift with the ball to complement his tough shot-making ability.
Connor Williams (6-2 SG, Stagg)
- Has developed nicely as a primary ball-handler and passer who really defends, rebounds, and shoots it well off the catch.
Corey Lee (6-0 PG, Oak Lawn)
- Quick-burst athlete at the PG spot. Pushes it on the break and finishes in crowds.
DJ Bolden (6-2 PG, Westinghouse)
- Dynamic scoring guard has been a force in Chicago. Fills it up in different ways and has shown the ability to lock up on the defensive end.
Ehi Ogbomo (6-1 PG, Plainfield East)
- Elite run-and-jump athlete with a blossoming skillset. Explosive slasher has a middle game and is a uniquely effective shot blocker at his size.
Edwon Duling (6-1 PG, Kenwood)
- Duling is a shutdown defender that is focused on doing what is needed to win games. Does all of the little things.
Germaine Benson (6-1 PG, Hyde Park)
- Well-built guard plays either guard spot, but is a solid passer and pick-and-roll player who uses his strength well on both ends.
Gus Rugaard (6-1 PG, Morton)
- Rugaard has been a rock-solid, reliable scoring piece for Morton. Knockdown shooter.
Isaiah Green (6-0 SG, Thornton)
- Playing on and off the ball this year for Thornton. Makes plays on both ends with his activity and speed.
James Parker (5-10 PG, Metea Valley)
- Fearless point guard doesn’t lack confidence. Finds ways to get in the paint and delivers in big moments.
Jonathan Calmese (6-1 PG, Manley)
- A regular triple-double threat with plus vision. Has wasted no time getting acclimated for Manley.
Jordan Brooks (6-2 SG, West Aurora)
- Brooks brings a nice blend of passing feel, on-ball defense, and dribble-drive skill.
Josh Fridman (5-8 PG, Glenbrook North)
- Among the tougher two-way guards in the state. Forces turnovers, makes plays for others, and is always a threat to score in bunches.
Kelton McEwen (6-2 PG, St. Francis)
- Long-range shooter that excels as a spot-up shooter and pick-and-roll player. Has added a nice element to St. Francis.
Larenz Walters (6-1 PG, Kankakee)
- A very effective shooter with that modern, score-first point guard feel to him. Just knows how to fill it up.
Luke Kinkade (6-3 SG, Neuqua Valley)
- A sniper who always stays in motion to lose defenders. Makes difficult jump shots look routine, off the catch and off the dribble. Gritty rebounder has transitioned to point guard well.
Malachi Johnson (6-3 SG, Rockford Guilford)
- Score-first guard is once again leading Guilford. Works best when attacking the rim but can get hot from three as well.
Max Johnson (5-10 PG, Oak Park River Forest)
- Johnson is having a strong senior campaign as the primary ball-handler for a talented OPRF lineup. Jet-quick with the ball and an acrobatic finisher.
Meyoh Swansey (6-3 SG, Thornton)
- Swansey is a standout mid-range scorer and a supreme vertical athlete in the midst of leading a gifted Thornton backcourt.
Miles Boland (6-3 SG, Loyola)
- Mixes it up in different parts of the game. Volume rebounder and adapting well to the point guard spot. More than capable spot-up threat
Nate Kasher (6-0 PG, Glenbrook South)
- Stout guard with range out to the volleyball line. Understands how to move, attack closeouts, and use his strength defensively.
Nate Nazos (5-10 PG, Batavia)
- True floor general who has his hands all over the outcome of games. Savvy passer is seemingly always under control while staying in attack mode.
Nolan Sexton (6-0 PG, Evergreen Park)
- Four-year standout for EP is best known for his elite outside shooting. Needs very little space to let it fly.
PJ Chambers (6-0 PG, DePaul Prep)
- Chambers is having a good senior year with an elite defensive unit at DePaul Prep. Plays to and through contact on his drives, knocks down open jumpers, and has a winning impact.
Rakim Chaney (6-2 SG, Rockford Auburn)
- Chaney has a knack for scoring in a hurry. Plus athlete leans on his finishing ability and developing pull-up shooting to affect games. Solid defender and passer as well.
Reggie Ray (6-2 SG, St. Ignatius)
- Has a college-ready build with serious strength and a downhill attacking game. Continues to be a crucial piece for Ignatius.
RJ McKinnie (6-2 PG, Simeon)
- Energetic defender can step into threes and give a boost with his activity.
Ryan Cox (6-4 SG, Fremd)
- Competitive, lefty perimeter shooter with good size and range. Has operated well at point guard using height and IQ to facilitate.
Sam Lappin (5-10 PG, Glenbrook North)
- Shuts down opposing point guards and makes timely buckets off of the dribble.
Talen Pearson (6-6 SG, Nazareth)
- Does so many things at a high level. Plus defender, smooth playmaker, and shoots it well enough to be a floor spacer. Legitimate option at all three perimeter spots.
Tavie Smith (6-1 PG, Richwoods)
- Constantly puts pressure on the defense with his basket attacks. Uses athleticism to rebound and frustrate opposing guards.
Thomas Hereau (6-2 PG, Scales Mound)
- Not in a holiday tournament, but too good of a player to not mention. Compact shot mechanics, has good lift and efficiency off the dribble, and can make those around him better.
Tommie Aberle (6-2 PG, Lake Forest)
- Rugged, win-first guard has been able to contribute across the board. Well-rounded athlete commits to guarding in one-on-one situations and rebounding like a big.
Wandy Munoz (5-10 PG, Wheaton Academy)
- Quick end-to-end point guard that puts defenders on their heels. Instinctual passer on the move and a slick finisher with the ball.
Yusuf Cisse (5-11 PG, Conant)
- Highly unselfish point-guard that has a pass-first mentality. A tremendous on-ball defender that can take other PGs out of games
Wings
Aaron Cook (6-5 SG, St. Francis)
- Ideal broad shoulders and long arms to be an impact defender at the next level. Spot-up shooting threat and stays active with cuts, straight-line drives, and rebounds.
AJ Thomas (6-4 SG, St. Patrick)
- A leader for St. Pats, bringing instant offense. Works well as a spacer who is ready to knife to the paint and score in crowds.
Alex Miller (6-5 SG, Downers Grove North)
- In the midst of a notable senior year for DGN. Size and shooting ability are noteworthy, but also has some defensive toughness and rebounding prowess.
Anthony Kemp (6-5 SG, Bradley Bourbonnais)
- An all-around two-way player that makes his biggest impact on the defensive end. Can handle the ball or run the wings as needed
Ben Person (6-4 SG, Johnsburg)
- Projectable wing shooter has emerged as a go-to option for Johnsburg. Lanky build should fill out well in college.
Cam Morel (6-4 SG, Aurora Christian)
- Morel brings a good build and physical strength along with deep three-point shooting range.
Darshan Thomas (6-5 SF, Marist)
- Transferred in from Fenwick and has been a force as a transition finisher and direct driving option. Mechanics are promising and the defensive ability is evident.
David Thomas (6-2 SG, Richards)
- Already has established himself as a high-level scorer in the state. Gets into the paint at will.
Elijah Luxton (6-4 SG, Rochelle)
- Strong-bodied scorer who can really shoot the ball. Gets off the ground well athletically to rebound or finish inside.
Jack Speers (6-3 SG, Wheaton North)
- Excellent long-range shooter with a quick release, very good strength, and a toughness about him. Continues to produce and lead Wheaton North.
Jeffrey Fleming (6-2 SG, Plainfield North)
- A multi-year standout is just a basketball player. Makes good reads on and off the ball, plays angles well, uses his body, and is highly efficient as a scorer with a high volume.
Jimmy Tarjan (6-4 SF, Loyola)
- Taller wing that understands the importance of playing hard on both ends. Solid three-point shooter and secondary playmaker.
KJ Lamonte (6-3 SG, Rock Island)
- Leading the way for Rock Island. Already has college-level open court skills and athleticism. Perimeter game is promising.
Kolby Capers (6-2 SG, Lindblom)
- Good frame and length on the wing to defend effectively across multiple positions. Giving Lindblom a strong tertiary option.
Kyle Waltz (6-6 SG, York)
- Productive, sky-high upside with his ball-handling ability, shooting stroke, and defensive impact. Very long arms, fluid, and a springy athlete
Lee Marks (6-5 SG, Mount Carmel)
- Plays all over the floor with high-level athleticism and energy. A defensive monster with his timing and ability to switch across positions.
Nathan Scearce (6-5 SG, Bartlett)
- Great size and body for a shooter with volleyball-line range.
Nick Patton (6-3 SG, Loyola)
- An in-motion shooter who possesses body control and solid athleticism.
Nick Popovic (6-2 SG, Lake Zurich)
- Sound and opportunistic off-guard that scores effectively from multiple spots on the floor.
Niko Newsome (6-6 SF, Normal)
- Came to Normal after being one of the area’s leading scorers last year but has since showcased terrific wing defense and off-ball instincts to get in passing lanes.
Richard Lindsey (6-4 SF, De La Salle)
- Active and explosive wing plays a lot bigger than his listing. Takes it to the rim with force and has been scoring at a high rate so far.
Ryan Mbouombouo (6-3 SG, Latin)
- Quick-twitch athlete sprints the wings, rebounds above the rim, and has a chance to be a very good defender at the next level. High-octane scorer for Latin.
Shaheed Solebo (6-5 SG, Lane Tech)
- Talented, versatile focal point for Lane Tech. Solebo breaks down defenders, hits jumpers off the bounce, and finishes in a variety of ways.
Tavariyuan Williams (6-6 SF, De La Salle)
- Wiry, smooth wing has been excellent for De La Salle thus far using his length and skillset to lead them in scoring.
Treshawn Blissett (6-5 SG, Waubonsie Valley)
- Very rangy and capable of being a defensive asset against different positions. Has a bunch of tools to work with offensively, looking best as a slasher.
Tyler Curl (6-2 SG, Prairie Central)
- Reliable spot-up shooter with a solid middle game. Has stepped into a lead role for Prairie Central.
Tyler Wooten (6-4 SG, Brother Rice)
- Fills whatever role is needed. Disrupts opposing offenses with his length and uses long strides and sheer athleticism to impact games on penetration and on the glass
Will Ashford (6-6 SG, Metea Valley)
- Continues to blossom with his size, physicality, and multi-level scoring. Can step into threes off the catch or rip through and finish above the rim in traffic.
Will Gonzalez (6-5 SG, Curie)
- Clear ability as a smooth perimeter scorer. Has the tools to be an effective defender as he fills out.
Forwards
Alec Schmidts (6-4 SF, Barrington)
- Stretch forward with range and a big frame that should play well as he fills out.
Alex Daniels (6-5 PF, Warren)
- Constantly productive interior scorer with the ability to put it on the ground against faceups.
Ben Van Lyssel (6-5 SF, Libertyville)
- Van Lyssel is having a breakout year. Good length, will add weight well, and can really shoot the ball from the perimeter
Calvin Robins Jr. (6-5 SF, Kenwood)
- Hyper-athletic, high-jumping forward is elite around the rim as a rebounder and lob finisher. Never takes a play off and has an endless motor on both ends
Calvin Worsham (6-7 PF, Christ the King)
- Plays best in a point-forward role where he has the build of a big with the footwork and vision of a perimeter player.
Christian Uremovich (6-6 SF, Mount Carmel)
- Disciplined frontcourt defender guards the ball and uses active hands in the post. Rebounds, can push if needed, and is a high-level teammate.
Jack Dabbs (6-7 SF, Stevenson)
- Creates mismatches with long arms and comfort shooting pull-ups and attacking off the dribble.
Jalen Crues (6-6 SF, Glenbard North)
- Tools are starting to come together as a high-upside two-way player. Decent shot mechanics and range to go with an ideal frame and run-and-jump athleticism.
James Bullock Jr. (6-7 PF, Marian Catholic)
- Bullock is a mobile, wiry forward that has shown well in the open court where he has some ball skills. Looks like the modern forward defender that can recover quickly.
JJ Hernandez (6-5 SF, Glenbard North)
- Swiss-Army knife is a game-changer on the defensive end. Offensive game continues to progress, finishing well around the rim and passing on the move.
Joe Balgro (6-4 SF, Neuqua Valley)
- Hard-hat, lunch-pail type of player who is a solid spot-up shooter. Relentless rebounder and defender can compete on the wing or against fours.
Jurrell Baldwin (6-6 SF, Hyde Park)
- Inside-out player is having a dominant season back at Hyde Park. Works out of the triple threat well, has a smooth outside stroke, and makes plays inside.
Santana Flowers (6-6 SF, Bloom)
- Protects the rim, takes on tough matchups on the wing, and has the athleticism to blow by forwards from the perimeter. Good ceiling.
Spencer Cullum (6-6 SF, Woodstock)
- Athletic and versatile option that has some point-forward qualities. Gives Woodstock steady offensive production, but has flashes of becoming a strong long-term defender
Bigs
Ali Mbaye (6-8 PF, De La Salle)
- Raw, but tangible upside. Rebounds, blocks shots, and runs the floor well at his size
Braden Richardson (6-6 PF, York)
- Having a good senior year. Hard-nosed rebounder with some face-up game
Camden Lathos (6-6 PF, Conant)
- Deliberate, highly efficient four-man scores on the block, from three, and off mid-range shots
David Hutchinson (6-6 PF, Maine West)
- Extreme length and shot-blocking ability. His jump shot looks decent and he plays hard inside.
Drew King (6-10 C, Joliet West)
- Rim-runner moves well and gets above the rim whenever possible.
Gakobie McNeal (6-6 PF, Homewood Flossmoor)
- Shows best defensively while banging with bigs and challenging shots. High-energy kid.
Grantas Sakenis (6-10 C, Andrew)
- Huge body with deceptively light feet and soft touch inside. Can be a load inside.
Jake Riemer (6-8 PF, Downers Grove North)
- Athletic run-and-jump big is a lob outlet, volume rebounder, and a consistent low-post defender. Has range to the three-point line
Jaylan McElroy (6-7 PF, DePaul Prep)
- As good of a frontcourt defender as there is in Illinois. Can switch out on guards or use length and athleticism against bigs. Keeps it simple on the block and thrives on the glass with his energy.
Justin Sveiteris (6-7 PF, Downers Grove South)
- Never disappoints with his production. Double-double machine has good feet inside and a high release point on his face-up shots. Brings a ton of toughness.
Luke Hopp (6-8 PF, Metamora)
- Flashing face-up game this year. Capable putting it on the ground and making jumpers off the bounce.
Nick Feather (6-8 C, Heyworth)
- Big body inside knows to carve out space and score inside of the paint.
Noah Cleveland (6-9 PF, Normal)
- Physically talented with a nice skillset at his size. Sprints the floor hard, passes fairly well, and can play either big spot.
Stefan Cicic (7-0 C, Riverside Brookfield)
- Uses height and weight to take over games. Very efficient with touches inside. Protects the rim well and has shown some range this year.
Taevion Collier (6-6 PF, Curie)
- A college-level rebounder at this moment. Sheds boxouts and goes after misses aggressively. Projects best as a punch spot outlet
Zavier Fitch (6-7 PF, Brother Rice)
- Doing a lot for Brother Rice all over the floor. Crashes the glass, runs the floor like a wing, and can make things happen from 15-feet and in.
