24-25 Team Previews: Genoa Kingston

***High school coaches can continue to fill out the Season Preview Form to provide information on their teams. This is not required to be featured, but it does help provide context to put together the previews.

Genoa Kingston

Outlook:

The Cogs return few key pieces from last year’s team and hope to play a lot of guys in hopes of finishing above .500 for the first time in a few years. 6-foot-5 forward Hayden Hodgson is nearing 1,000 career points and returns as the leading scorer. He has serious three-point range to go along with the size to do some damage inside. Senior guard Nathan Kleba is a three-year starter who can be a complimentary ball-handler and shooter on the perimeter. Junior Marcus Johnson also played significant minutes as a sophomore and has grown as a confident playmaker who can impact games defensively. Genoa is hoping to carry momentum from a strong summer into the winter season.

Key Players:

Sr – Hayden Hodgson (6’5 Forward)
Jr – Marcus Johnson (6’0 Guard)
Sr – Nathan Kleba (6’0 Guard)

Prospect For College Coaches To Keep An Eye On:

Hayden Hodgson (6’5 SF/PF, 2025)

Hodgson has the build to play inside but has a perimeter-oriented game where he leans on long-range shooting. He’s a serious threat to knock down shots from the volleyball line and has a good one-to-two dribble pull-up game. He has already fielded a few D3 offers.
