Team Preview: Wheaton North
Coach David Eaton takes over after spending nearly 20 years coaching the girls team. The size and athleticism is there for Wheaton North to make some noise coming off of a very good summer. Senior Henry Schlickman will be among the better point guards in the conference after leading the way as a junior. He should have a chance to play at the college level. They also return a good mix of shooting and experience in that senior class with Briggs Barnick, Will Channing, and Sean Pedersen. Barnick is a well-rounder scorer with some positional length and slashing ability. I expect him to have a nice senior year in the backcourt. Channing shot over 40 percent from three least year and Pederson will be a solid wing to add to their depth.
I remain high on 6-foot-5 junior Ben Gillmar, an athletic forward who has continued expanding his inside-out game since being called up as a freshman. He put together a big summer and is a candidate to have a breakout year. 6-foot-7 junior Adam Schilling is a big-time football prospect who has serious athleticism and aggression inside. He can do some damage on the interior and will be an asset on the back line of the zone. Johnny Clayton (6-foot-6), another notable junior with size, also brings length and activity on both ends. Juniors Jacob Johnson (6-foot-7) and Burke Neibch should add depth. They are expected to play more up-tempo with the athletes and shooters to do so.
Prospects To Watch:
2026 Henry Schlickman (6’0 PG)

2026 Will Channing (6’2 SG)
2027 Ben Gillmar (6’5 SF/PF)
