24-25 Team Previews: Woodstock

***High school coaches can continue to fill out the Season Preview Form to provide information on their teams. This is not required to be featured, but it does help provide context to put together the previews.

Woodstock

Outlook:

The Blue Streaks had their first 20-win season in over 20 years last season, spearheaded by a deep senior class. With 80 percent of the scoring gone, they will lean on a younger group. Sophomore Max Beard should take a big step after averaging 10.5 points as a freshman. He’s gotten taller and looks primed to be one of the area’s top three-point shooters. Collin Greenlee will step into a larger role after producing as the sixth man last year. Look for Tony Grzetic to step up as a lock down defender as well. In a conference that should be up for grabs, the Blue Streaks will look to grow throughout the year.

Key Players:

Max Beard

Collin Greenlee

Tony Grzetic

Joey Nitz

Charlie Walrod

Prospect For College Coaches To Keep An Eye On:

Max Beard (6’3 SG, 2027)

Beard had an impressive year as a freshman, averaging double figures on a 20-win team. He has good positional size at 6-foot-3 and seemingly continues to grow and tap into his athleticism with time. Already a knockdown shooter, Beard will have a chance to show more of his game off of the dribble this year. His rebounding and activity on defense will also be areas to watch as he continues to progress.
