With September beginning, our preseason coverage for the 2025-2026 season is underway. Coaches can submit team previews throughout the fall.
Team Preview: Schaumburg
The Saxons return three starters from a 22-win team last season and will look to compete in the new MSL West. The top returner is explosive 6-foot-6 forward Cam Anderson (9 ppg/6.5 rpg), who came along nicely as the season progressed last season. He has continued to develop as a perimeter player to complement his activity and athleticism inside of 15 feet. Tony Horton (8 ppg/2.1 apg) will take over as the primary ball handler after making a nice impact after transferring to the Saxons last year. Shooter and energy-giver Ray Black (8 ppg) also returns to the wing after starting for much of last year.
There will be some added length to the front court depth with junior forwards Jason Jancik (6-foot-4) and Aaron Shogren (6-foot-3). A player who could break out in his first varsity season is 6-foot-1 guard Masyn Harrell. The lanky, quick-twitch sophomore has a lot of tools to work with and projects as an impact defender and attacker early on. He will be one of the top 2028 prospects in the MSL this year. Another young name to remember if he gets varsity time is big, 6-foot-6 freshman Frankie Vincent, a Division 1 volleyball prospect who already has a 36-inch vertical. Vincent is still developing, but his frame and athleticism give great reasons for optimism down the line.
Prospects To Watch:
2026 Cam Anderson (6’6 PF)
2026 Tony Horton (6’0 PG)
2028 Masyn Harrell (6’1 PG/SG)
