Team Preview: Waubonsie Valley

Waubonsie Valley lost 6 of their top 7 from a loaded team last season that featured four college basketball players and a Division 1 soccer recruit. They will lean on the core of junior Kris Mporokoso (8 ppg, 4 rpg, 1.8 spg) and sophomore Kyler Payne. Mporkoso is a versatile, 6-foot-5 wing who was an honorable mention All-DVC selection last year. He will emerge as one of the best players and prospects in the area this season.

Payne is a 6-foot-6 forward who can face-up, knock down outside shots, and put it on the ground. He is emerging after a strong summer with Waubonsie and on the 3SSB circuit. They will have a solid surrounding cast of seniors who will provide shooting and energy for a team who will have a new look from the past few years.
