Team Preview: Pecatonica

It has been quite the run for Pecatonica, establishing itself as one of the better small-school programs in the state over the last few years. They look to win a fifth consecutive conference and regional title, led by budding 6-foot-5 wing Zion Braimah. The powerful, athletic junior has been a mainstay in the lineup over the last two years, where Pecatonica has been dominant. Expect that experience to pay dividends in a breakout year for him. They will be largely inexperienced outside of Braimah, with junior Eli Linder being one of the upperclassmen expected to make a big impact alongside several talented freshmen and sophomores.

Karter Degner is a quality point guard who can shoot the three and dictate pace as a sophomore. Look for him to be a critical piece for them. His classmate, Cooper Hamilton, is a guard who provides athleticism and an attacking style out of the backcourt with the type of frame and agility that should aid him defensively. A pair of promising freshmen, Connor Berg and Izaiah Braimiah, should make an immediate impact with their positional size/skill/athleticism combo. Both will be big-time players for Pecatonica in the next few years.
