Week 10 Players Of The Week

We saw a bunch of tight and energetic matchups during the week, and plenty of notable individual showings. But here are 10 players who stood out amongst the group.

AJ LeVine (Senior Guard, York)

The York point guard has been a force in the western suburbs for years, but is on quite a tear at the moment. He helped get the Dukes to the top of the WSC with games of 30 and 23 points respectively in critical. LeVine, a Penn commit, will be an All-State player this year.

Anestis Hadjistamoulou (Junior Guard, Glenbrook South)

A catalyst all week for GBS, Hadjistamoulou poured in 27 points and dished out seven assists against a loaded St. Ignatius backcourt en route to a solid win for the Titans. He also had 16 points

Cam Cerese (Senior Guard, Lake Park)

Leading a team that is undefeated in conference play, Cerese has been nothing short of spectacular this year. During the week, he had 22 points and nine assists in a route of Geneva and then had 28 points and seven assists in another commanding win over Larkin. He’s easily one of the 10 best available seniors in the state.

Derek Bishop (Junior Guard, Mundelein)

Bishop, a dynamic and creative guard, scored 30 points to start the week and followed that up with 29 points showing on Friday. Bishop has a great combination of speed, body control, and skill to get going offensively and guard the ball defensively.

Domas Narcevicius (Junior Guard/Forward, Stagg)

Narcevicius put on a shooting show this week with games of 17 points and 28 points. The latter came in a win against a surging Bradley Bourbonnais team who had just beat one of the top teams in the state. At 6-foot-6 with a strong frame, the deadeye-shooting Narcevicius is a tough cover.

Justus McNair (Senior Guard, Joliet West)

McNair, a Valparaiso commit, surpassed 1,000 career points and had a 36-point outing during the week for Joliet West. The springy guard has been a big factor on both ends of the floor as a scorer, passer, and disruptive defender. McNair has been one of the best guards in the area this year.

Lathan Sommerville (Senior Center, Richwoods)

Sommerville has a unique blend of size and skill that is a regular mismatch. His week was highlighted by a 26-point, 19-rebound, 11-block triple-double. It’s another impressive notch on the belt for the Rutgers commit.

Nick Allen (Junior Center, Bradley Bourbonnais)

The rising 6-foot-11 big man continues to look like a premier center in the state regardless of class. He was instrumental in a big program victory over Homewood Flossmoor with a dominate 27 points and 13 rebounds. He also had games of 18 and 19 during the week while adding an offer from Loyola Chicago. It’s just the start for a well-rounded player.

Ross Robertson (Junior Forward, South Beloit)

Quickly approaching the all-time scoring record at South Beloit, Robertson had another memorable week. After scoring 40 points with 15 rebounds to start the week, he had games of 28 and 38 points later on. The junior still looks like a prospect with Division 1 upside with how well he moves, rebounds, and defends at 6-foot-8.

Shaheed Solebo (Senior Guard, Lane Tech)

Solebo had one of the best weeks of his high school career, including a huge showing against Whitney Young to clinch a share of conference. The 34-point and 31-point games during the week gave the Champions a big lift during a difficult slate of games heading into the latter part of the year. Still uncommitted, Solebo should be a hot commodity for programs looking to fill out their recruiting classes.
