Outlook:
The Sequoits lost a number of key pieces from last year’s team that won conference for the first time in over 40 years. Included in the departures is standout wing Marshall Gehrke, who will be graduating early to focus on his promising BMX career. That leaves some uncertainty but also plenty of opportunities for a team with multiple seniors and juniors looking for elevated roles.
Three starters return, headlined by wiry, athletic wing Teddie Wetu who should be an all-conference player this year. Wetu broke the single season steals record and is the most experienced player entering his third year. But 6-foot-6 forwards Jason Lee and Jack Majerowski are also back in the starting lineup. Both provide some length and mobility in the frontcourt. 6-foot-9 senior big man Caleb Drews should provide additional support inside.
Look for the junior class to add value early on. Physical 6-foot-4 forward Cooper Marabella is active on both ends with the frame to make an impact in his first full varsity season. Guard Mark Render should aid with ball-handling duties while giving some backcourt shooting. Coach Connor has scheduled a gauntlet of a non-conference schedule that should test the inexperienced group but also prepare them for the postseason.

Prospect For College Coaches To Keep An Eye On:
Teddie Wetu (6’3 SG, 2025)
Wetu is an impact defender on the wing who has the length and quickness to be a disruptor at the next level. His offensive game has continued to progress, showing signs of being an effective slasher, transition threat, and spot up shooter. There should be some opportunities to play at the D3 level if he chooses to pursue them.
