2024-2025 Season Awards: All-State Teams

We are starting to unveil our annual year-end awards, starting with our All-State team made up of four teams across all classes with 60 honorable mentions.

All-State First Team:

Aleks Alston (Sr. – Kenwood)

Stats: N/A

One of the top uncommitted seniors in the state. Alston brings a unique combination of face-up skill, ball-handling, playmaking, and length on the defensive end. He has several high-major options.

Bradley Longcor (Sr. – Quincy)

Stats: N/A

The driving force in the backcourt for one of the top teams in the state, leading Quincy in scoring and assists. A Santa Clara commit, Longcor generates quality looks on command with the feel and IQ to control the flow of games.

Davion Thompson (So. – Bolingbrook)

Stats: 24 ppg/49% 3PT/89% FT

Thompson continues to look like one of the top guard prospects in the country for the 2027 class. He has upped his scoring this year while also improving his percentages as an ultra-efficient offensive weapon. Surpassed 1,000 career points in only his second season.

Ian Miletic (Sr. – Rolling Meadows)

Stats: 20 ppg/9 rpg/4 apg

Marquette commit and MSL East Player of the Year. Miletic is a win-first star who has been fully locked into helping Meadows win all year. Nearing 6-foot-8 with the isolation skill to score on the block or from three and the vision to pick apart defenses as a passer. Contributes at an elite level across the board and has the type of character and production to be viewed among the greats for the Mustangs.

Jaxson Davis (So. – Warren)

Stats: 20 ppg/4 rpg/6 apg/3 spg

Another gifted sophomore in the state. Davis showed up in the biggest games this year, particularly on the defensive end where is a ball hawk. The quintessential two-way point guard went over 1,000 career points this year.

Jayden Tyler (Sr. – Homewood Flossmoor)

Stats: 19.4 ppg/4.1 rpg/3.1 apg/2.2 spg/50% FG/40% 3PT

The Wofford recruit is starring for the reigning 4A state champs. Does a great job of picking his spots, making plays in the flow of the offense, and responding in pressure moments. Never seems to be out of sorts.

Leshawn Stowers (Sr. – Peoria)

Stats: N/A

Physical guard for Peoria has been one of the best players from end to end. Miami Ohio recruit is a relentless scorer who plays with a sense of urgency on a nightly basis. Very committed defender who has guarded multiple spots well.

Lincoln Williams (Jr. – Kankakee)

Stats: 19 ppg/8 rpg/3 apg/2 bpg

One of the best juniors in the state and emerging as one of the more promising recruits in the entire Midwest. Has led Kankakee to a strong year thus far using his athleticism, IQ, and versatility.

Marcos Gonzales (Sr. – Brother Rice)

Stats: 19 ppg/6 rpg

The Chicago Catholic League Player of the Year found different ways to affect games for the Crusaders. Savvy dribble penetrator and all-around scorer who displayed toughness on both ends. Committed to The Citadel.

Matthew Zobrist (Sr. – Metamora)

Stats: 19.5 ppg/4.1 rpg/3.1 apg/58% FG/38% 3PT

One of the few pieces leftover from the historic Metamora teams of the last few years. Zobrist has thrived as a leader and primary option while remaining one of the premier perimeter scorers in the state. Signed to Bradley.

Nick Allen (Sr. – Bradley Bourbonnais)

Stats: 23 ppg/12 rpg/2.5 bpg

Named Southwest Suburban Conference Player of the Year. Dominant interior threat who caused issues defensively with his size and mobility. Athletic rim runner has regularly put up monster numbers for Bradley Bourbonnais. Illinois State commit.

Phoenix Gill (Sr. – St. Ignatius)

Stats: 20 ppg/7 rpg/3 apg/2 spg

Northwestern recruit led Ignatius to one of their best regular seasons in school history. Gill was a force driving the basketball and hitting pull-ups. Displayed consistent shot-making and solid defense in the rugged CCL where he was an all-conference selection.

Ross Robertson (Sr. – South Beloit)

Stats: 30 ppg/13.7 rpg/3.6 apg/1.3 bpg

Northern Michigan recruit has over 3,000 career points and is among the top rebounders in IHSA history. Added more perimeter skill to his overpowering game inside of 15-feet. Tireless crasher and attacker who has dominated for South Beloit.

Tyreek Coleman (Sr. – Waubonsie Valley)

Stats: 20.6 ppg/4.6 rpg/4.5 apg/2.3 spg/54.3% FG/39% 3PT

Illinois State commit. Led Waubonsie Valley to nearly 30 regular season wins and thrived on both ends of the floor. Coleman is a highly cerebral guard who makes others on the floor better and still finds a way to score over 20 points a night. Makes the game look easy at times.

Vince Buzelis (Sr. – Hinsdale Central)

Stats: 19 ppg/8 rpg

One of the top players in the Chicago area was an All-West Suburban selection. South Dakota commit has power, speed, and skill off of the dribble at 6-foot-5. Has given the Red Devils steady production.

All-State Second Team:

Al Brooks (Sr. – Rich)

Stats: N/A

Do-it-all wing for Rich Township is the leading scorer and rebounder for a team who has shown that they can play with anybody. Elite defensive weapon who can truly guard every spot on the floor. Uncommitted prospect to track.

Braden Freeman (Sr. – Moline)

Stats: N/A

Finished conference play as the leading scorer in the WB6. Cal Poly recruit continued the upward trajectory that he showed last season and through the summer. Slick slasher has been aggressive as a driver and transition player all year. Very adept defender and quality rebounder for the Maroons.

Chris Kirkpatrick (Jr. – New Trier)

Stats: 22 ppg/6 rpg/6 apg

Battled some injuries of late but has been among the top lead guards in the state this year. Promising Division 1 recruit has upped his production across the board, particularly as a volume playmaker and rebounder. Shooting proficiency and dynamic ball-handling ability have stood out.

Devin Cleveland (So. – Kenwood)

Stats: N/A

Smooth, lanky sophomore has shown why he is a highly sought-after recruit. Talented shot-maker has looked like an upperclassmen on the big stage, leading the Broncos on multiple occasions. Will be a high-major recruit.

Dietrich Richarson (Sr. – Peoria Manual)

Stats: N/A

Superb talent out of Peoria would have been a first-team selection if he didn’t miss a month after Thanksgiving. Effortless athlete manufactures shots and sets up his teammates. Highly underappreciated as a disruptor on the defensive end. Bradley signee.

Docker Tedeschi (Sr. – Benton)

Stats: N/A

Colorado State commit is an all-around threat. He has shined as a shot-blocker, floor spacer, and on-ball decision maker. Looks to lead Benton back downstate this season.

EJ Mosley (Sr. – St. Laurence)

Stats: 12 ppg/4 rpg/5 apg/64% FG/40% 3PT

The catalyst for a St. Laurence team that went undefeated in the Chicago Catholic League. IPFW commit can score whenever he wants to, but focused on getting everyone involved and stepping up as a shot-maker when needed.

Grant Best (Sr. – Mount Carmel)

Stats: 17.1 ppg/9.0 rpg/2.9 apg/3.3 spg/35% 3PT

Productive two-way guard for Mount Carmel has an elite motor. The top rebounder at his height in the state with the traits to do what is needed to win games. Air Force commit and All-CCL selection.

Hunter Gawron (Sr. – Niles North)

Stats: 18.3 ppg/8.3 rpg/73% EFG

CSL North Player of the Year was a double-double threat. A tenacious competitor plays with an edge and maximizes his athleticism with how hard he plays. Shot a ridiculous clip from the field while taking more jump shots this year. Uncommitted forward with scholarship-level appeal.

Jayden Riley (Jr. – Yorkville Christian)

Stats: 23 ppg/8.5 apg/2 spg

Highly talented passer who had multiple double-digit assist games for the Mustangs. Scoring prowess was also key, able to score over 30 points when necessary. Emerged as a legitimate Division 1 point guard.

Makai Kvamme (Sr. – DePaul Prep)

Stats: N/A

The straw that stirs the drink for the Rams. Intelligent point guard makes sure everyone eats and has shown more willingness to look for his own shot. Western Illinois recruit adds value as a leader, defender, and connector that won’t show up on the stat sheet.

Marquis Clark (Jr. – Whitney Young)

Stats: N/A

Well-rounded point guard became a star for the Dolphins. Got better as the year progressed, balancing his scoring and distributing duties well. May be the best point guard in Chicago already. Should continue to pull in quality Division 1 offers.

Oliver Gray (Jr. – Barrington)

Stats: 22 ppg/5 rpg/2 apg

Co-Player of the Year in the MSL West has solidified himself as a Division 1 recruit. Lights-out three-point shooter has shown more one-on-one ball skills and off-the-dribble scoring. The top scorer in a loaded, defensive-minded conference with more athleticism than he gets credit for to this point.

Paxton Giertz (Sr. – Seneca)

Stats: 25 ppg/3.9 rpg/5.5 apg/4.4 spg/56% FG/40% 3PT

Giertz has scored over 2,400 career points and is one of the best kept secrets in the state. The Hillsdale recruit is a fierce competitor who handles heavy defensive attention, manages to be a high-volume/high-efficiency scorer, and still digs in on the defensive end to change games with his ball pressure and anticipation. Multi-sport standout can take over games.

Theo Rocca (Sr. – Evanston)

Stats: 15.1 ppg/5.5 rpg/40.3% 3PT

WashU recruit was named the CSL South Player of the Year. Deadeye three-point shooter is playing with more of an attacking mentality on the offensive end. Rocca leads by example and battles with bigs or slides his feet on the perimeter defensively. A big-time recruiting coup for the Bears.

All-State Third Team:

AJ Demirov (Sr. – Crystal Lake South)

Stats: 18 ppg/3.5 rpg/4.5 apg/2.3 spg

A four-year standout for the Gators. Demirov broke the school’s all-time scoring record and has been an electric playmaker and shot-maker all year for a team who reached the supersectional last year. One of the top uncommitted point guards in the state.

Alex Stell (Sr. – Waterloo)

Stats: 21.0 ppg/12.7 rpg/2.4 apg/2.1 bpg

Illinois-Springfield recruit. The big man has patrolled the paint to a high level, putting together one of the best careers in Waterloo history. Stell is deceptively light on his feet with improved three-point range to add to it.

Antonio Munoz (Sr. – Whitney Young)

Stats: N/A

Munoz is arguably the most athletic player in the state. While playing at the four and five spots at times, he has excelled as an open court finisher, rebounder, and half court slasher. One of the true showtime finishers in Illinois.

Blake Fagbemi (Sr. – Benet)

Stats: N/A

A key cog at the point guard spot for a very good Benet team. Fagbemi is a blur with the ball and continues to put constant pressure on the rim where he can finish in traffic or deliver on-time passes to bigs or shooters. Signed to Truman State.

Cam Thomas (Sr. – Mount Carmel)

Stats: 19.8 ppg/6.9 rpg/1.4 spg/37% 3PT

The leading scorer for the Caravan was named to the All-CCL team. Defends all over the floor despite giving up some height. Dominant isolation scorer with his speed, strength, and pull-up shooting. Uncommitted guard with Division 1 suitors.

Herb Martin III (Sr. – Edwardsville)

Stats: N/A

Excellent point guard for an Edwardsville team who has put together a nice year. Martin is a decisive scoring threat who gets defenders on their heels and finds different ways to fill it up. Currently uncommitted, but looks like a sleeper in the class.

Jordan Williams (Jr. – Fremd)

Stats: N/A

Co-Player of the Year on their side of the MSL. Skilled, versatile lefty was impactful in the post, on the perimeter, and in the open floor. Talented passer at his position with a lot of upside on both ends of the floor.

JT Pettigrew (Sr. – Bolingbrook)

Stats: 16 ppg/11 rpg/3 bpg

A double-double machine for Bolingbrook who was also a premier rim protector and switchable piece on that end of the floor. Their all-time leading rebounder and shot blocker. Promising face-up game has expanded and allowed for more production from the outside. Critical piece to the Raiders. Valparaiso commit.

Kobe Walker (Sr. – Normal)

Stats: 19.1 ppg/12.2 rpg/1.5 bpg

Central Michigan recruit is one of the top true centers in the state. Overwhelmed defenders inside of 10 feet with his size and touch. Walker has shown tremendous growth with his footwork and mobility, making an impact on multiple levels defensively with blocked shots and ball screen contains.

Mason Lockett (Jr. – Oswego East)

Stats: N/A

Battled some injuries but was on triple-double watch while he was playing. Slick decision maker has great length and ability to facilitate at the point guard spot at 6-foot-6. Lockett leaned into his role as a primary scoring option, shooting a high clip and managing the defensive attention well. High-major recruit.

Moses Wilson (Sr. – Waubonsie Valley)

Stats: 15.2 ppg/6 rpg/3 apg/2.8 spg/1 bpg

A rising star in the senior class who is a true D1/D2 sleeper at this stage. Long arms and athleticism showed up in Waubonsie’s shutdown zone. Wilson shot the ball well, was a lob threat all season, and displayed a knack for finding his teammates in the offense. Legitimate two-way wing prospect.

Rashaun Porter (Jr. – DePaul Prep)

Stats: N/A

All-CCL seclection. Physical low post threat was one of the keys for opposing scouting reports. Porter has clean footwork and finishes through contact inside well. He was a load all year offensively but also anchored them defensively as a communicator and enforcer. Will be a Division 1 forward.

Rykan Woo (Jr. – DePaul Prep)

Stats: N/A

Another talented DePaul Prep junior who led the Rams in scoring and was an All-CCL pick. Incredibly proficient as a shooter with some of the best splits in the state with his type of volume. Woo has been a savvy ball-handler and opportunistic defender as well. Expect him to be a hot commodity for low-to-mid major and Ivy League programs.

Sean Reynolds (Sr. – DeKalb)

Stats: N/A

Became DeKalb’s all-time leading scorer this season. Reynolds has been a great role model for players in the program with his discipline and development. Remains a deadly three-point shooter but has also become a capable floor general and aggressive defender. A winner. Committed to D’Youville.

Wes Gudeman (Sr. – Morton)

Stats: N/A

A model of consistency for a very good Morton team. Deliberate wing seems to always show up in big games as a clutch shot maker. Gudeman excels at uses his frame to get to spots and hit jumpers from around the floor. Unsigned senior has a unique, multi-faceted game.

All-State Fourth Team:

Aidan Bardic (Sr. – Stevenson)

Stats: 14.6 ppg/6.5 apg/1.8 spg

The North Suburban Conference Player of the Year after leading Stevenson to an impressive finish in the regular season. One of the most intelligent and tough playmakers in the state with great court sense. Scored when he needed to but dictated tempo to the team. Also a very good on-ball defender who puts winning above individual accomplishments. Winona State recruit.

Cole Kelly (Fr. – Neuqua Valley)

Stats: 19 ppg/10.2 rpg/2.7 apg/1.7 spg/1.0 bpg

Among the best freshmen in the Midwest took no time adjusting to the varsity game. Kelly is a dangerous three-point shooter who can be a primary ball-handler and distributor when it’s required. Contributed across the board for Neuqua, also showing grit on the defensive end as a one-on-one stopper and helpside defender. Very bright future.

Colin Stack (Jr. – Benet)

Stats: N/A

The anchor for a rugged Benet defense. Stack is a game-changing shot blocker who deters paint touches with his length and timing. Also has been a leading scorer for the Redwings as a vertical lob threat who can step outside to hit threes. His rebounding and rim protection are elite at this stage. Shows a lot of traits that will translate to the Division 1 level.

Cooper Hoffman (Sr. – Pecatonica)

Stats: N/A

Multi-sport standout is the catalyst for a Pecatonica team who has not lost to a 1A or 2A team yet. Hoffman is an explosive finisher who can stop on a dime to lift up for his jumper. Brings experience, scoring, and a general sense of tenacity to a team that is considered a favorite in the state tournament. Currently uncommitted.

Dalton Scantlebury (Sr. – Lane Tech)

Stats: 15.9 ppg/9.2 rpg/2.3 1pg/1.3 spg/2.3 bpg/59% FG

Penn commit is a force inside. Scantlebury has great hands around the rim, goes up in traffic to finish or rebound, and has excellent defensive traits with his lateral quickness at 6-foot-10. Has been the focal point for a team who has faced a ton of competition this year.

DJ Porter (Sr. – Romeoville)

Stats: N/A

Stepped up in a big way as the leading man for Romeoville. Big, strong guard was a tremendous on-ball defender again but took on more of a score-first identity to help the Spartans win games. Provided value as a shooter, driver, and big-moment decision maker. Committed to Tarleton State.

Elijah Lovemore (Sr. – Bloom)

Stats: 15 ppg/10 rpg/7 apg/5 spg

Mr. Triple-Double for Bloom. Uniquely talented rebounder at the point guard spot with the si,e and length to control games on the defensive end as a turnover creator and on-ball stopper. Gives Bloom value across the board. Uncommitted point guard with promise.

Hayden Schroeder (So. – Wheaton Academy)

Stats: 20.8 ppg/7.2 rpg/1.5 spg

Shook off a mid-season injury and won player of the year in their conference. An all-around talent at the four spot, Schroeder created mismatches with his ball-handling and face-up skill at nearly 6-foot-8. The fastest player to 1,000 points in Wheaton Academy history and looks to be primed for a big spring.

Hudson Scroggins (Sr. – Lake Forest)

Stats: 16 ppg/8 rpg

One of the top uncommitted forwards in the state. Scroggins was beyond impactful as the leader for the Scouts. The All-NSC selection brought the ball up for stretches at 6-foot-7, shut down other team’s top options, and picked apart defenses working from the inside-out. Dominated games in matchups with some of the top teams and players in the state.

Keshaun Thomas (Sr. – Quincy)

Stats: N/A

Recently committed to Drury and surpassed the 1,000 point mark. A traditional junkyard dog who led the Big Six in rebounding and used his physicality to score in bulk on the interior. Thomas sacrifices his body for the team and displays winning qualities on both ends.

Luke Blackford (Jr. – Calvary)

Stats: 26.3 PPG/8.0 rpg/3.6 apg/3.3 spg/51% FG/38% 3PT/77% FT

Maybe the most unheralded junior in the state with his resume over the last three years. Recently surpassed 2,000 career points. Hyper-efficient wing shot it at a high clip, got to the line regularly, and made an impact on the glass. Blackford does so much for the Saints.

Luke Smith (Sr. – Addison Trail)

Stats: 27 ppg/8.2 rpg/7.1 apg

Regularly had some of the most impressive outputs in the state. Nearly averaged a triple-double while facing double-teams in a loaded West Suburban conference. Crafty operator with the ball can get his shot off from anywhere on the floor. Smith will be a huge addition to whichever program he decided on in the coming months.

Reid Olson (Sr. – Niles North)

Stats: 16.5 ppg/3.2 rpg/5.5 apg/102 3PM

Always a joy to watch. Four-year standout for Niles North is top five all-time in state history in made threes. Olson was the primary ball-handler and decision maker, earning all-conference honors for the third straight year. Outside of being an elite shooter, Olson was adept at pushing the pace, delivering on-time passes to teammates, and understanding game flow. Committed to Purdue Northwest.

Trey Taylor (Sr. – Moline)

Another impressive performer from the Big Six who became the all-time winningest player in Moline’s decorated history. Taylor is a volume rebounder who can score over 20 points when needed. Shows good footwork, a relentless motor, and the type of inside-out game that should work at the next level. Unsigned forward should have a pick of a few D2 and low major D1 programs.

Yaris Irby (Sr. – Niles North)

Stats: 17.2 ppg/3.6 rpg/3.1 apg

A repeat All-CSL selection for Niles North gave the Vikings a consistent scoring punch and secondary playmaking. Irby is a shifty, dynamic guard capable of taking games over when he’s in rhythm. Stands out when the lights are brightest. Currently unsigned.
