We released our all-state teams earlier in the week and will periodically be releasing the other awards over the next week. Today, we are putting out the all-class teams for each of the four age groups.

All-Freshman First Team
Amarion Smith-Holley (Fr. – Peoria Richwoods)
Stats: 19.4 ppg/3.0 rpg/2.8 apg
The highest scorer in the class this year was handed the keys for Richwoods. Smith-Holley excelled as a shot creator and one-on-one player in a very impressive opening campaign.
Archie Goewey (Fr. – Centralia)

Goewey proved to possess winning traits from day one. He is a physical, athletic big guard who shoots it at a high clip, operates off of the dribble with confidence, and rebounds like a post player. One of the safest long-term prospects in the class.
Brady Pettigrew (Fr. – Bolingbrook)
Stats: 11 ppg/3 spg
The highly-touted guard made defense his calling card, which is hard to do as a freshman. Still found ways to score on dribble penetration and on kickouts. Pettigrew is on a nice trajectory for a talented Bolingbrook core.
Cole Kelly (Fr. – Neuqua Valley)
Stats: 19 ppg/10.2 rpg/2.7 apg/1.7 spg/1.0 bpg
Ethan Vahl (Fr. – Oswego)
Stats: 18.5 ppg/5.5 rpg/3 apg/1.3 spg
Stepped into a lead role for Oswego and made the most of it. Taller point guard with great vision and the ability to separate from defenders. Took nearly 20 charges on the defensive end and showed a competitive edge.
All-Freshmen Second Team
Brock Brown (Fr. – Taylorville)

Wiry wing for Taylorville is an impressive movement shooter who has been a high-octane scorer. Brown looks to be in the early stages of his physical growth and already has the perimeter skills to thrive.
Cole Tillman (Fr. – Mendota)
Stats: 16.7 ppg/5.5 rpg/2.8 apg
Wouldn’t be surprised to see him receive some all-state consideration in their class. Talented lefty has three-point range and playmaking ability at 6-foot-5. Regularly gave Mendota a go-to scoring option.
Darrius Hawkins (Fr. – Homewood Flossmoor)
Stats: 8.8 ppg/3.4 apg/2.0 spg/42% 3PT
Didn’t have the volume of some of his peers but was excellent in a complementary role for the reigning 4A state champions. Dynamic ball-handler made big shots, handled the ball well, and was a game-changer at times with his ball pressure.
Jayen Dozie (Fr. – Maine East)
Stats: 13.4 ppg/5.1 rpg/65 3PM
An under-the-radar freshman who has high-level skill already. Fit in perfectly with Maine East as a scoring guard who drills threes and plays with grit on both ends.
Ryder Wettig (Fr. – Trico)
Stats: 16.6 ppg/9.6 rpg/4.5 apg
Another freshman who has been terrific in multiple areas this year. Wettig is a well-built wing who has plus vision, shoots the laces off of the ball, and can score on the interior. A legitimate double-double threat showed he was capable of taking over games.
All-Freshman Third Team
Ben Ojala (Fr. – Evanston)

Seems unfazed by the moment for Evanston, even in high-pressure moments. Wows as a ball-handler, shooter, and pinpoint passer for the experienced Wildkits. Also has been a reliable on-ball defender.
Brady Jones (Fr. – Metamora)
Stats: 8.9 ppg/4.1 rpg/1.5 apg/66.7% FG/39.5% 3PT
Part of a talented freshmen class at Metamora. Jones seemingly improves by the week while playing with great energy and activity on both ends. Shoots the three confidently, finishes well around the rim, and is just an all-around talented athlete. A blossoming front-court prospect with a high ceiling.
CJ Pittman (Fr. – Payton)

Slick, strong lead guard was given a lot of responsibilities to run the team early on. Fearless shot-maker and an under-control ball-handler and distributor. Seems primed to be an impactful floor general in Chicago for the next few years.
DeAndre Higgs (Fr. – Thornton)
Stats: 10.3 ppg
Wasted no time being a factor for a new-look Thornton team. Higgs brings a level of creativity and downhill force as a driver that led to him being one of their top options with a tough schedule.
Kelechi Enyia (Fr. – Providence Catholic)

Instantly adapted to the rugged Chicago Catholic League. Enyia flashed long-term potential with near-term production as a slasher and transition option who rebounded well from the wing.
All-Freshman Fourth Team

Williams has compiled multiple double-doubles throughout the year as his game continued to progress. One of the better big prospects in the class, he was also a factor as a shot blocker.
Brayden Porter (Fr. – Yorkville)

The talented wing earned a starting role and never looked back. Ferocious basket attacker who stepped out to hit threes and was excellent in the open floor at times for the Foxes.
Chase Kasten (Fr. – Normal)

Do-it-all wing has so much potential with his frame, athleticism, and evolving skillset. Kasten really impressed with his defensive agility and anticipation throughout the year. Also provided value as a spot-up shooter, cutter, and straight-line driver for a good Normal team.
Jacob Only (Fr. – St. Viator)
Stats: N/A
Only shined as a defensive stalwart who dominates games with his point-of-attack defense. The slashing ability helped him become one of Viator’s top scorers in ESCC play. The arrow is pointing up.
Luke Alexander (Fr. – North Mac)

Alexander has been productive since the start of the year for North Mac. The lanky guard is a knockdown shooter and all-around scorer who has a knack for filling it up. His level of confidence and aggressiveness is uncommon for a freshman.

Dubois stood out in his second varsity season, earning all-conference honors as one of the top options for East Peoria. The quickness, change of direction, and long-range shooting stood out in a number of big games.

A unanimous all-conference player. Kitt has put together a monster season in a rugged conference, contributing across the board. Scores on the block, off the dribble, and in catch-and-shoot situations while being a stout individual defender. A premier wing prospect in the class.

The UEC Player of the Year on their side in West Aurora’s first year in the conference. Shined for a team who hasn’t lost in the new year yet. Slick point guard who has a ton of projectable traits as a passer, defender, and shotmaker.
All-Sophomore Second Team
Amari Dukes (So. – TF North)
Stats: 17 ppg/7 rpg/1.5 spg/1 bpg
Dukes was the leading man for TF North and was one of the higher-scoring players in the class this year. He moves fluidly and scores effortlessly off of pull-ups and curls.
Arthur Abbey (So. – Moline)

Abbey gave a consistent offensive punch to a very good Moline team. The quick lead guard gets into the paint at will and helped drive a team that plays with great pace with his open-court game.
Brady Welch (So. – Moline)

Another standout for Moline who was a long-range shooting threat and maestro with the ball. Skilled guard showed signs of being a difference-making point guard for years to come.
Carson Trivellini (So. – Crystal Lake South)

Second-year varsity player emerged as a nice second option for the Gators. Multi-sport standout should be an All-FVC selection after excelling as an all-around scorer this year.
Charles Schlicht (So. – Grant)

All-conference player for Grant. Physically gifted wing used his athleticism to perfection to overpower defenders and make an impact on the glass.
Dawson Charles (So. – St. Viator)

Another returning varsity piece who took a nice step forward. Charles moved differently with his explosiveness and advance as a perimeter shooter and ball-handler. Was one of Viator’s top scorers and battled to guard bigs at times.

Very productive scorer for Wesclin. Earned multiple all-tournament honors an showed the type of one-on-one ability that should make him an all-state player at some point.
Markese Peoples (So. – St. Laurence)

Big-bodied guard for Laurence was a key part of their balanced attack. Played and guard multiple spots on the floor and used his frame well to attack paint. Fit in well during his first full varsity season.
Tray Alford (So. – Yorkville Christian)

Returning guard for the Mustangs improved his efficiency and volume. Three-point specialist was a solid secondary playmaker and a perfect piece to the up-tempo, fast-paced offense.
All-Sophomore Third Team
DeMarco King (So. – TF North)

King was exciting after transferring to TF North. Length, feel, and skill showed up on both ends where he was a productive slasher, transition player, and perimeter defender. A promising long-term prospect.
Elijah Bell (So. – Harvest Christian)
Stats: 15 ppg/7 rpg/3 apg
Athletic, downhill guard for Harvest was an all-conference pick. Bell is well on his way to scoring 1,000 points and proved to be a true talent against some tougher teams this season.
Jacob Fuller (So. – Glenbrook South)
Stats: 11 ppg/5 rpg/1 bpg/40% 3PT/66 3PM
Fuller really impressed as a three-point shooter at 6-foot-8. Emerged as a second option who could space the floor, drive closeouts, and score on the block.

High-usage guard for Fenger had some big-time performances after transferring in last summer. Speed, body control, and vision gave him an edge as a creator.
Kris Mporokoso (So. – Waubonsie Valley)

A key piece for a winning team. Makes an impact in their zone with his timing and length on the wing. Hits open threes, uses his athleticism to get to the rim, and shows true Division 1 upside as a two-way threat.
Lamari Carpenter (So. – Glenbard North)

Long, lanky guard was a breakout player for GBN. Has a nice blend of physical skills that he put to good use as one of the top scorers for the young team.
Luke Alvarez (So. – Loyola)

A top charge-taker and three-point shooter for the Ramblers. Alvarez gives a ton of value that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet with his extra effort plays and IQ on both ends.
Reggie Stevens (So. – St. Laurence)

A big piece off of the bench for St. Laurence. Instant offense with clear talent as a multi-layer scorer. Stevens had a knack for stepping up and providing a spark for the undefeated CCL leaders.

Strong wing took a nice step forward this year. Rocca’s perimeter shooting and ball skills have advanced and his hard-nosed defense and rebounding have been key for a talented Wildkit group.

Braimah opened eyes with his explosiveness, defense, and basket-attacking ability for a Pecatonica team who is considered one of the best in 1A. He’s been excellent as a tertiary piece for the senior-laden group.

Three-point threat was productive in his second varsity season for a young Central Catholic team. Knockdown shooting was complemented by improved athleticism and off-the-dribble scoring.
Jagger Mayville (So. – Waltonville)
Stats: 11.0 ppg/4.4 rpg/1.5 apg/1.3 bpg
Lanky forward has become one of the more intriguing long-term forward prospects in the area. Mayville shined as a shot blocker and face-up scorer for a good Waltonville team.

Part of a youth movement for Normal. Flashed elite run-and-jump athleticism, defensive impact on the wing, and timely spot-up shooting. Gives Normal value across the board.

A blossoming interior force. Gave this historic Kaneland team an intimidating rim protector and high-volume rebounder who can finish above the rim.

Cwik is a repeat all-conference selection after leading Bartlett once again. The quick first step and tough shot-making that allowed him to stand out as a freshman was present again.

A big body inside for Marian Catholic was the focal point in the frontcourt with soft touch, good feet, and a bit of a mean streak on the block. His developed jump shooting ability was an added bonus.

Rangy wing for Glenbard North ended up being a key interior defender and leading rebounder. Redento has a very intriguing game with his mobility, defensive instincts, and ability to push in transition.

Kirby was a three-point specialist as a freshman and brough back similar value in his second campaign. He gave U-High steady double-digit scoring outputs and forced defenses to extend to keep him out of rhythm.

All-CSL selection took a monumental jump this year. Pollack is an adept shooter and finisher with innate touch in and around the lane. He is just starting to scratch the surface for the Warriors and is a Division 1 frontcourt prospect.

Led one of the winningest teams in the state this year. Peoples has a knack for scoring in difficult ways while having the ability to play in a point guard capacity when needed.

The floor general for a team who had one of the best regular seasons in Kaneland history. Cocroft has been an instant-impact transfer and a consistent weapon as a scorer and distributor.

Among the best shooting splits in the entire state. The UEC Player of the Year is an elite shot-maker from the outside and a driving force behind a big turnaround year for the Rams.

A potential Division 1 recruit for Mount Carmel. Mister was part of the three-headed monster for the Caravan, aiding as the top three-point threat and natural primary playmaker.

Silky smooth guard for Lincoln Park has been a key piece to their success this year. Lee excels as a mid-range scorer and precise playmaker in the flow of the offense.

Missed some time this year but bounced back well for the Wolverines. Tyler has undeniable talent as a switchable defender, dribble penetrator, and scorer. Among the best long-term prospects in the class.

20-point scoring threat for Byron is one of the top guards in the region. Newton is a returning starter from their downstate team last year. The springy, quick-twitch shooter has been excellent this year.
Charlie Pomis (Jr. – Hersey)

Pomis did it all for the Huskies and earned MSL All-Conference honors as a result. Premium-level defender and athlete who shot the ball well and facilitated well. Generated so many quality looks and saved them points defensively with his activity.
Davon Grant (Jr. – DeKalb)

Illinois football commit. Three-year starter for DeKalb was a force on the inside for the Barbs. Put together another year where he was regularly flirting with double-doubles.
Jamson Coulter (Jr. – Rich)

The head of the snake for Rich. Coulter is a natural decision-maker and adept dribble penetrator who uses angles well. The all-conference selection is a coveted mid-major recruit.
Jayden Wright (Jr. – Benet)
Stats: N/A
Wright helped drive winning for Benet this year with his long-range shooting, defensive toughness, and timely playmaking. All-ESCC pick shows up in whatever way the team needs him to in each game.
Rocco Pagliocca (So. – Stevenson)

Battled some injuries but was once again an all-conference honoree for Stevenson. Super skilled guard had his best year in his third varsity season. Shoots it, applies ball pressure, and is a nifty ball-handler.

One of the top option in a very balanced attack for one of the state’s top teams. Transferred back to the state and used his frame and scoring instincts to make an immediate impact. All-ESCC player.

Alton’s standout guard will be a Division 1 player. Stampley gave them explosive drives to the rim and three-point marksmanship after breaking the single-season record as a sophomore.

The perfect point man in the Hiltopper zone. Disruptive gap defender took a step forward as a perimeter shooter and ultimately was named to the West Suburban All-Conference team. Scholarship-level upside.

Missed a month with injury but still did enough to impress as a 20/10 threat for a very good McHenry team. Face-up forward shoots the lights out, protects the rim, and rebounds in his area. D1/D2 prospect.

In-conference transfer emerged as an All-WSC player as the leading man for DGS. Tall guard plays with a chip and is always looking for opportunities to make plays. A sleeper in the class.

The leading scorer on one of Rockford’s best teams. Chatman has a nose for scoring with quickness and tough shot-making ability in space.

All-CCL player was a bright spot for a young De La Salle team. Radiates potential at nearly 6-foot-7 with long arms, playmaking ability, and floor spacing potential.

Another All-CCL selection who opened a lot of eyes this year. Bolte, an athletic combo forward, showed his motor all year while attacking missed shots and defending all over the floor. Talented offensive threat as well who can dribble, pass, and shoot at a plus level.
Lawson Zulu (Jr. – Rock Island)

All-WB6 player for a Rock Island group who gave teams issues all year with their speed and athleticism. Zulu was the leading scorer and focal point of that attack as the primary ball-handler.
Maddox Ritzel (Jr. – Nashville)

Versatile guard is a pitbull for Nashville. Very strong dribble-drive player is set to become one of Nashville’s top scorers. Shines on the defensive end as both a shot-blocker and on-ball stopper as well.

Electric athlete is considered one of the top football prospects in the state. Transferred into Morgan Park this year and was one of the top scorers in the CPL. Carried them offensively throughout the year.
